I was born in Greensboro. I attended school at Aycock-Mendenhall Junior High and Page High School! At age 15, I moved to Manteo, on the Outer Banks of NC, where I played football, baseball, & basketball for Manteo High School! Great memories there! While living on the Outer Banks, I worked on a fishing boat and a waiter at a restaurant in Nags Head.Played a indian in the outdoor drama THE LOST COLONY, Then came my first job in radio at WOBR in Wanchese-on Roanoke Island I moved back to Greensboro in late 1979 and started working for 107.5! Then came television...and PM Magazine ! We traveled the world and had a great time! Not a day goes by when somebody doesn't stop me on the street and says "Hey Rod, I remember you on PM Magazine!" My family is my life! I have 3 daughters and a son (and 3 grandsons!) I have a terrific wife Tracy, from New Jersey! She's slowly turning into a southern girl...although she still won't eat grits! My youngest daugther is Ashley: she's 15 and loves horses! Courtney just turned 18 and takes ballroom dance lessons at Fred Astaire with my wife, Chad is 24 and just SERVED OUR COUNTRY IN THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD. Dana is 32 and lives on the Outer Banks with her husband Kydd and their 3 AWESOME children (Corbin, Thatcher, & Forrest...who will be the next Tony Hawk!)

I'm still doing television commercials around the area and have appeared in a couple of movies! I played a TV reporter in "King Kong Lives" and a sheriff in "Alien Outlaw!" I also spent some time in Atlanta, GA and appeared in the soap opera "The Catlands," where I played Gus! My real love is radio, 2-7PM Monday-Friday

IS NICK JONAS FALLING IN LOVE?

  The Jonas Brothers will begin filming their own Disney Channel television series this fall, but rather than the spy comedy it was originally going to be, Nick, Joe and Kevin will follow a format similar to HBO's Flight of the Conchords. "We can just pick up a guitar and break into song -- in really funny situations," they told Ryan Seacrest during his radio show on Tuesday (August 5th) morning. Meanwhile, Nick Jonas and fellow tween star, Wizards of Waverly Place actress Selena Gomez accidentally confirmed their romance after giving similar interviews referencing a kiss they appear to have shared. "While we were slow dancing, my crush and I had our first kiss!" Gomez recently told Twist magazine. "After it, I leaned back and I said, 'You cheated.' And he said, 'Why' and I said, 'I don't kiss on the first date' Then he said, 'Well I never really play by the rules.'" - Jonas corroborated her tale, telling Girls Life magazine, "On one date, the girl said to me, 'I don't kiss on the first date.' So I said, 'I don't follow the rules.'"
- Despite a denial from Jonas' rep, rumors about the pair's romantic relationship have been swirling for months. The couple, who both sport purity rings, collaborated on a video for the Jonas Brothers' new single "Burning Up," in which Selena appears.
- Jonas was previously linked to Miley Cyrus, the fellow Disney star in whose footsteps Gomez has been tapped to follow.
